A Broader View Volunteers is a US based non-profit organization with a vision to connect people with communities in need. A Broader View was created on the belief that one person can make a difference. We are devoted to the improvement of human living conditions for those in needs. Our volunteer programs abroad provide vital support to schools, day cares and community development projects to low income neighborhoods. We do this by supporting the work of local community organizations in countries through the placement of international volunteers. A Broader View Volunteers offer volunteers the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational and community aid programs such as Teaching, Children’s Home/Day Care, Community Development/Construction, Working with Indigenous People and much more. Our goal is to positively impact the lives of the children, by providing a capable and complementary volunteer workforce to existing local institutions offering social projects. A Broader View Volunteers strive to offer programs that cultivate a sense of leadership and cultural understanding in all those involved. By bringing the two worlds of volunteers and underprivileged people together, A Broader View Volunteers strives to improve the social situations of the local people as well as creates more socially and internationally conscious group of future leaders. Our volunteers are mostly from the US, Canada, and Europe, from all walks of life, and range in age from high school to retirees. Most programs do not require special skills or experience, just an open mind and a desire to reach out to those in need in non-western countries. We are interested in expanding our programs in many countries, and seeking new partnerships. If granted the opportunity to work with you, we will provide written essays and resumes of prospective volunteers who will work with you for periods of 1 week to 4 weeks, but it also can be more time. These volunteers will be at no cost to you. You can take care of their accommodation and meals with a local host family or nearby hostel, as well as transportation (you will be paid for that and there will be a donation for the orphanage). We select people who are of good standing and so we believe you will not have any disciplinary problems with them. Volunteers will report directly to the staff of the local institution and our local coordinator will monitor their work as well.
